Rider’s Way App Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 17, 2026

Advantage Horsemanship LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Rider’s Way mobile application or website (“App”) and any related services.

1. Information We Collect

a. Personal information you provide:

  • Name, email address, and account credentials
  • Payment and subscription details, processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or our web payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number.
  • Responses to onboarding questions, riding assessments, and the goals you set for yourself and your horse
  • Messages, ride logs, journal entries, and support inquiries

b. Coach Scott inputs (text and voice):

  • The questions, descriptions, and voice recordings you provide to Coach Scott

c. Health and fitness data:

  • If you use an Apple Watch or connect Apple Health, we collect ride-related metrics such as heart rate, effort, duration, and distance, in order to show your ride stats and tailor your coaching

d. Usage and device information (collected automatically):

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • IP address and general (city or state level) location
  • App usage, progress, and feature interactions

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, personalize, and improve the App and your plan
  • Generate coaching from Coach Scott
  • Show your ride stats and progress, including heart-rate and effort data
  • Process your subscription and respond to support requests
  • Send you service messages and, with your consent, optional marketing you can opt out of at any time

3. Coach Scott, Voice, and Third-Party AI Processing

When you use Coach Scott, your text and voice inputs are sent to and processed by third-party artificial-intelligence and voice service providers acting on our behalf so that we can generate a response. Those providers are OpenAI and ElevenLabs.

  • OpenAI receives the messages and questions you type to Coach Scott, together with your rider and horse profile (such as your name, your horse, and your experience) and your journey progress, so that Coach Scott can answer you and tailor your plans.
  • ElevenLabs receives a recording of your voice and the text of the conversation during a voice session, so that Coach Scott can hear you and respond out loud.

We ask for your permission before any of this data is shared, and you must agree before you can use Coach Scott. You can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings, and Coach Scott's AI features will stop. These providers are bound by contract to use your inputs only to provide the service to us, and not to train their own general-purpose models on your data. We confirm that OpenAI and ElevenLabs are contractually required to protect your information to the same or an equal standard as this Privacy Policy requires of us, including limits on retention, restrictions on further disclosure, and appropriate security measures. We do not sell your inputs, and voice recordings are used only to understand and respond to your request, never for advertising.

4. Health and Fitness Data

Heart-rate, effort, and other ride metrics are used only inside the App to display your ride information and personalize coaching. We do not sell this data and we do not use it for advertising. If you connect Apple Health, we access only the data needed for these features, in accordance with Apple’s requirements, and you can turn this off at any time in your device settings. This information is provided for general fitness and informational purposes only. The App is not a medical device, and this data is not intended for medical monitoring, diagnosis, or treatment.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the App, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, email, analytics, and the AI and voice providers described above, under agreements that require them to protect your data
  • Law enforcement or others when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no app or platform is 100% secure, and use of the App is at your own risk. Your data may be stored on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • View, edit, or delete your account information within the App
  • Disable Apple Health and heart-rate sharing in your device settings
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Request deletion of your data, subject to records we are required to keep for legal or transaction reasons

To exercise your rights, contact support@advantagehorsemanship.com.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.

10. Advertising, Cookies, and Analytics

On our website we use the Meta (Facebook) pixel and similar cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use our pages, to measure and improve our advertising, and to reach relevant audiences. These tools may set cookies and collect information such as your device, browser, pages viewed, and actions you take (for example, starting a checkout), and may share it with Meta for ad measurement and targeting. We do not use your health, heart-rate, or Coach Scott data for advertising. You can manage cookies in your browser and control ad personalization in your Meta account settings.

Rider’s Way App Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: July 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, starting a free trial, subscribing to, or otherwise using the Rider’s Way app or website (“App”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Educational Purpose Only; Not Professional Advice

The App provides general educational guidance for horsemanship, groundwork, riding, rider fitness, horse conditioning, connection, and confidence, delivered through audio, video, text, and AI features. It is provided for general information and education only. It is not, and is not a substitute for, professional in-person instruction, veterinary care, medical or physical-therapy advice, or emergency services. Always use your own judgment and seek qualified in-person help for your specific situation.

3. Coach Scott and AI Guidance

“Coach Scott” is an AI feature that generates responses from your text or voice input. Its responses are generated by software, are general in nature, and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not appropriate for you, your horse, your skill level, or your circumstances. Coach Scott does not know you or your horse and cannot see what is happening around you. You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to act on anything it says. Do not attempt anything that is beyond your ability, that feels unsafe, or that your horse is not ready for, and stop immediately and seek qualified in-person help if any situation feels unsafe.

4. Assumption of Risk — Notice of the Intrinsic Dangers of Equine Activities

WARNING: Horses and equine activities are inherently and intrinsically dangerous. Under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia (Va. Code § 3.2-6200 et seq.), an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant resulting from the intrinsic dangers of equine activities. Those intrinsic dangers include, among other things: the propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death to people on or near it; the unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to sounds, movements, objects, people, or other animals; hazards such as surface or subsurface conditions; and collisions with objects, animals, or people.

You understand and voluntarily accept that using the App, and applying any technique, exercise, or recommendation from it, including anything suggested by Coach Scott, involves the risk of serious injury or death to you, to your horse, and to other people or animals, as well as the risk of property damage. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all of these risks, whether known or unknown. This section is intended to give you notice of the intrinsic dangers of equine activities.

5. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and discharge Advantage Horsemanship LLC, Scott Purdum, and their owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates (together, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses of any kind arising out of or related to your use of the App or your reliance on any content or Coach Scott guidance, including any injury to or death of you or any other person, any injury to or death of any horse or other animal, and any property damage. This waiver is intended to give notice of, and to cover, the intrinsic dangers of equine activities.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from any claim brought by you or by any third party, including another rider, a horse owner, or a bystander, arising out of or related to your use of the App, your reliance on its content, or your activities with a horse.

7. Health and Safety

Consult a physician before beginning any rider-fitness or exercise activity, and consult a licensed veterinarian before beginning any conditioning program or making health decisions for your horse. Heart-rate and effort information shown in the App is for general fitness and informational purposes only; the App is not a medical device and must not be used for medical monitoring, diagnosis, or treatment. Always ride in a safe environment appropriate to your ability, use proper safety equipment including a properly fitted helmet, and do not let the App distract you from your safety or your horse.

8. No Guarantee of Results

Results vary based on your effort, your horse, and many factors outside our control. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, improvement, or result.

9. Subscription, Free Trial, Billing, and Cancellation

The App is a free download and offers a 7-day free trial, after which it continues as an auto-renewing subscription at $19.99 per month unless you cancel. Depending on how you sign up, billing is handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or our web payment processor (Stripe). Your subscription automatically renews each month and your payment method is charged at the then-current price until you cancel. You may cancel at any time: for App Store or Google Play subscriptions, manage or cancel in your device’s subscription settings; for web subscriptions, cancel in your account settings or by contacting support. To avoid the next charge, cancel before your free trial ends or before your renewal date. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. Except where required by law, payments are not refundable for periods already begun; web-subscription refund requests are handled under our Refund Policy, and App Store or Google Play purchases are subject to those stores’ refund policies.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse engineer, exploit, or interfere with the App; not to share your account credentials; not to copy, record, or redistribute content; and not to use the App in unsafe conditions or in place of proper supervision.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, including videos, audio, text, frameworks, methodologies, and AI prompts, is the intellectual property of Advantage Horsemanship LLC or its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use it and may not copy, distribute, or reproduce it without prior written permission.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for any violation of these Terms or misuse of the App.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Released Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and their total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and continued use of the App means you accept them.
