How to Teach your Horse to Cross Water

What do we do when we come to a water crossing? This is something we talk about all the time. There are many different ways to address this issue, but first, it’s all about curiosity.

For any obstacle, we want to get the horse to be curious rather than ignore it and then we can help them to overcome the obstacle, which in this case is water crossing. Watch the video below to see how Scott works through this process of overcoming a water crossing.

This is something that takes time and patience. Once you create that curiosity, we can start to encourage the forward motion to overcome the obstacle and build confidence through it.
