Creating that perfect bond between you and your horse can sometimes get lost when the horse does not understand or think of you as the leader of the herd. Scott has designed this program to help your horse understand just that! Scott or his Professional Trainers take each horse and start them in Scott’s Level 1 program to fill in any holes in training the horse might have. The month will be spent teaching the horse to stay in a calm, relaxed frame of mind at all times, both on the ground and under saddle. At the end of the month, you are encouraged to take your horse home and enjoy the progress he has made. Then, Scott recommends that you bring your horse back for an additional month of training to make the horse more consistent and to reinforce what he has learned. This program is great for any horse, from starting your young colt or filly, to finishing a horse for trail, hunter/jumper, or western pleasure. In this program, your horse will be worked one to three times a day, 5 days a week, and you will receive two free lessons after every month.

     

When it comes to training, the horses are generally not the hard ones to teach. It is the humans who struggle to understand them. Scott has designed this program with the owner in mind, combining the same great training that is in the General Training Program with additional hands-on learning for you! Two times a week, Scott or his Professional Trainers will work with you one-on-one to teach you the exercises that your horse is performing in the General Training. It’s like having your own private clinic twice a week, and you will come away with a solid understanding of the training principles that will allow you to continue to work effectively with your horse.

Two of the most common problems with horses can be getting them on and off a trailer safely and effectively, and standing for the farrier. While these problems can seem difficult to overcome, there is hope, and they are not as difficult to work through as you might think. In most cases, Scott might only need one session to work with you and your horse to overcome these issues. With each session, Scott will first teach your horse, and then he will teach you how to do it. This training can be done at Scott’s farm or yours.

Searching for the right horse can be a difficult process. Trying to decide if a particular horse will be the best companion for you is often a guessing game. Scott wants to take the uncertainty out of the search and make this process easier for you by offering his expertise in being able to analyze and evaluate a horse’s suitability. The session will include Scott’s initial evaluation of the horse’s temperament for safety issues. He will then work with the horse on the ground, next under saddle, and then he will assess how the horse responds to you and your body energy. Scott is always honest in recommending whether or not a particular horse will be the right one for you!
